In January 2025 I went to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Kumbh comes to the Sangam, where the Ganga and the Yamuna meet, once every twelve years, and for six weeks the floodplain turns into a city of tents, pontoon bridges and lights.
It was a short trip: one evening on the riverbank and one night in a camp tent.
